Instructions
Preparation of Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, yeast, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
In another bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, sugar, salt, milk, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and gradually add the remaining flour until you form a soft dough.
Knead the dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour in a warm place.
Rolling and Baking
After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface.
Spread a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top of the rolled-out dough, then roll it tightly from one end to the other.
Cut the rolled dough into equal pieces to form the cinnamon rolls.
Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space in between them.
Let the rolls rise again for another 30 minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and then bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
Frosting Preparation
While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by beating the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk together until smooth.
Once the rolls are done baking, take them out of the oven and let them cool slightly.
While still warm, spread the frosting over the rolls and enjoy!
Notes
Do not rush the rising; allow the dough ample time to rise for soft and fluffy rolls. Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
