  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded Any leftovers can be used
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), shredded Choose based on preference
  • 1 package wonton wrappers Available in most grocery stores
  • 1 egg for egg wash To help seal the wontons
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season according to preference
  • Olive oil Used for frying or baking

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if baking. If frying, heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the mixed vegetables, shredded chicken, and cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Take one wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center.
  • Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle and press the edges together to seal, using egg wash if necessary.

Cooking

  • For baking, arrange the stuffed wontons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush lightly with olive oil. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  • For frying, drop the wontons into the hot oil and fry for about 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy and golden.
  • Once done, remove from the oil or oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

Serving

  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.

Notes

Avoid overfilling wontons to prevent breakage. Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy outcomes. Consider freezing uncooked wontons for later use.
